Regional Director, Business in the Community, Responsible Business

Working with Business in the Community is the most rewarding, enjoyable and invigorating job imaginable. I joined Business in the Community in 1994 helping establish Race for Opportunity, a campaign focusing on building sustainable links between minority ethnic communities and society as a whole. I had the great pleasure of helping to arrange for The Prince of Wales to visit a predominately African-Caribbean and Asian community in 1998. The excited crowd stretched as far as the eye could see.

By 2000 I had become Deputy Director of Race for Opportunity and subsequently in 2004 the Regional Director of the South West Region of Business in the Community. As a Regional Director, I work with some of the most talented senior managers in businesses as well as committed individuals that are devoted to making the lives of those in their communities stronger and more resilient.

In 2010, I'll have an amazing opportunity to highlight much of the work of business people and community activists when I become High Sheriff of Bristol. This is such an honour and I would love to draw attention to examples of work that The Prince of Wales has both inspired and championed.
