Development Director, The Prince of Wales’s Business and the Environment Programme , Responsible Business

I've been working on the Business & the Environment Programme since 2000, and in that time I've seen lots of exciting developments and have managed a number of different aspects of the Programme, including fundraising, marketing, seminar development and geographic expansion.

One of the key developments over that time has been the change in delegate understanding of the issues. Delegates increasingly arrive at our seminars with a sophisticated understanding of the sustainability issues they face, and a real appetite for learning around the responses and solutions to those issues. One of the most challenging, enjoyable and rewarding aspects of my current role as Development Director for the UK and European Seminars is my work with faculty and contributors and my fellow Programme directors to shape seminars that really respond to delegate needs and inspire them to make significant change within their organisations.

Although there is huge progress still to be made in tackling some of the major sustainability challenges we face, this is an incredibly dynamic field to be in, with huge - and ever increasing - interest and activity on sustainability across many parts of society. The opportunities are significant, and it is wonderful to be part of a network which convenes so many leading thinkers and practitioners committed to sharing learning and expertise.
