Hello, I’m Malcolm and I look after the day to day operations at Scottish Business in the Community. Having worked in the Commercial sector all my life, starting work at SBC was a bit of a culture shock, but in a good way.
In my commercial life I had become frustrated at the focus on shareholder value and monetary profit and felt that there was more to business. Working at SBC has renewed my faith in people and business, where we encourage businesses to use responsible business practice to make a positive impact on society and the economy of Scotland. It’s amazing the difference that can be made though employer supported volunteering and other projects that SBC engage our businesses with.
The other positive about working with The Princes Charities is that every day is different, you never know what will happen each day. There is never a dull moment. It’s fast paced, forward looking, dynamic and very rewarding. The Team I work with are a great inspiration.
