The Prince’s Regeneration Trust

The heritage of a place usually lies at the heart of what makes it distinctive. It is what attracts many visitors to this country and what people who live here identify with and value most strongly. The Prince’s Regeneration Trust has proved over the years that, sensitively adapted, historic buildings at the heart of communities can continue to play a key role in creating a vibrant economy, reducing the need for new development. Where further development is needed to support the economic and social needs of an area, it is critical that it respects its historic context.

Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive

The Prince’s Regeneration Trust is a charity that works with communities throughout the United Kingdom aiming to ensure that important buildings at risk of demolition or decay are preserved, regenerated and re-used.

The Trust’s ethos leads it to concentrate its activities in socially and economically deprived areas; places that will benefit most from the regeneration of the wider community.

The Trust champions the value of partnerships and works closely with building owners, developers, community groups, local authorities and other public bodies to find sensitive and sustainable new uses for buildings at risk.

Buildings, like people and places, need to adapt to survive and the projects of The Prince’s Regeneration Trust give redundant buildings a viable and long-term future keeping them at the heart of the communities in which they stand.
