Expression and style: Creative ways of incorporating grammar into the English Classroom
A one-day CPD event on incorporating grammar into English lessons. This exciting day will be led by Ruth Ling, classroom teacher at NLCS, Edgware, London.
The course is designed to stimulate new and exciting approaches to the teaching of grammar from KS3 to A2. It will aim to:
- Raise awareness of what an exciting resource grammar can be in the English classroom
- Explore the place of grammar in the ever-changing world of communication in which our students live
- Examine ways in which teachers can encourage students’ awareness of the part grammar plays in the English language and the literary works they are studying
- Suggest ways in which grammar teaching might be successfully embedded within the curriculum
- Equip delegates with ideas and resources for approaching grammar within and alongside work for GCSE.
Speakers include:
Adrian Beard, author of The Language of Politics.
Location:
Kensington Palace
Palace Green
London W8 4PU
The event price for the first applicant per school department is £195, which includes lunch, all refreshments and materials. The price for further applicants from the same department is £65 per person.
